Technology Services - AccessGrid Help |
|
AccessGrid
Video Technology Services Group
(VTS) builds, maintains, and operates NCSA's multiple Access Grid nodes.
Before you can start using
AGSchedule to the fullest
extent, you must first be registered and logged in.
- Registration
is required so that you can be contacted with details
regarding your meetings.
- The registration page asks you for general information, such as your
name, email address, phone number, and your location.
- Your email address serves
as both your login name and is used internally by AGSchedule for
sending out notifications.
It
is extremely important that you give an email address that you
check often.
- Your site is the Access Grid location where you will be attending meetings.
At this time, an email address can only be registered at one location.
If you have a need to register at a second location, you will have to
register separately under a different email address.
- Once registered, you will be automatically logged in. In future visits
to AGSchedule, you will want to log in. If you are not logged in, you
will not be able to schedule or modify your meetings.
To access the scheduling page,
click "Schedule
A Meeting" in the top navigation toolbar.
- Enter the number of
people you
expect
to attend locally. This lets the Node
Operators
know what to expect at the time of the meeting.
- Enter Title and Description of your meeting. The title is used
to identify your meeting on calendar pages. You may wish to enter an
agenda
and any relevant information in the Description.
- Enter Date/Time and Duration of the meeting. When you have entered
valid information, the Ending Time of the meeting will automatically
display, confirming what you have already entered.
- Select File Center Permissions. You can either restrict uploading
to yourself and node operators, allow anyone to upload files, or
you can specify a list of users whom you would like to give uploading
permission
to. Click the radio button next to the option you would like to select.
A full explanation of
the features & functions of AGSchedule is available by clicking
the "Tour" link in the top navigation toolbar.
**If you are unable
to schedule a meeting using AGSchedule, you can send
mail
to VTS
with
the following
information:
- Meeting Date, Time & Duration
- Number of local participants
- List of all participating
remote AG sites
- Indicate if there are any
presentation materials and how the node operators can access them
